Our History

Mark Silverwood founded Silverwood Associates, Inc. in 1993 and the company has since been responsible for the acquisition, approvals, renovation and ownership of five Northern Virginia apartment properties, creating much-needed quality rental apartments in the region.

The company also has developed six other rental properties in Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Our projects have been featured on Nightly Business Report, in Urban Land magazine, Multifamily Trends, Units, The Washington Post, Washington Business Journal, Real Estate Forum, and other news media.

In response to what we saw as a gap in the marketplace where volume, rather than relationships and quality were the norm, we formed Silverwood Homes, Inc. in 2003.  Our previous construction, development and management experience provided for a smooth expansion into the for-sale realm.

In 2003, Silverwood Management, Inc. was launched to manage our own portfolio and facilitate the ongoing asset management on which we pride ourselves.  Our employees are part of the greater Silverwood team and having ultimate control over our portfolio and our team members is paramount to our continued success.
